Hunting in Namibia - Conservation Areas

1. Heusis Ranch - Khomas Hochland Namibia

The main hunting ground is located on the 8500 ha large Farm Heusis. Heusis is situated in central Namibia, in the Khomas Highland, just 50 km west of Windhoek. Farm Heusis is part of the Khomas Hochland Conservancy which gives us a hunting area of 150 000ha. The Khomas Highland has the character of a typical bush land high plateau with rolling hills and mountains up to 2044 metres high. Wide plains crossed by river beds are found in between the mountain ranges. The Khomas Highland is very versatile regarding its landscape as well as the amount of species that are found here.

About 30 species of wild mammals are found in the Khomas Highland. Especially kudu and mountain zebra seem to prefer the Khomas Highland mountains. But also springbok, red hartebeest, oryx as well as leopards are found here.

Our game roams freely and one is almost always completely alone in the beautiful landscape of the Khomas Highland, exactly as described passionately in old hunting books of Africa.

2. The Elephant Lodge - Kalahari Namibia

The second conservation area is situated at the east of Namiba, about 100 km away from Windhoek International Airport. Here, in the heart of Africa, Okambara with its 15 000 ha of untouched nature is found. The character of the farm is typical for the eastern edge of Namibias great Escarpment merges with the  Kalahari, resulting in a landscape dominated by contrasts of savanna and mountains.

Great herds of Giraffe and Oryx populate the vast savannas of the Kalahari. Here these populations were able to increase undisturbed during the past decades. Elephant, Rhinos Leopards and Cheetah can be encountred during your stay. Until now no trophy hunter has interrupted the natural flow and thus the quality of the trophies is phenomenal.

With the mountains in the back the gaze wanders across the pristine Namibian landscape in the evening. The impression of our herds of Zebras and Oryx at sunset and the wish to return to Okambara will last a life time.
